WILLOW Engages with Students in STEM Outreach Session

On 13 March, the WILLOW project took part in an educational outreach activity aimed at inspiring young students to explore careers in science and engineering. Jerika Lamas, from Sirris, joined Ms. Yohn’s 8th grade class at Colorado Middle School as an online guest speaker to introduce the students to the WILLOW project and its role within the offshore wind sector.

The session formed part of the class’s preparation for their STEM programme, giving students the opportunity to learn about an active European research project directly from someone involved in its daily work. During the presentation, students were able to explore how research teams collaborate, how innovation happens in real projects and how STEM skills are applied to real‑world challenges.

At WILLOW, the consortium values opportunities to support STEM initiatives and educational programmes, helping connect research with classrooms and encouraging the next generation of scientists and engineers.
