CEIT Deploys Sensors for WILLOW Project Testing at HARSHLAB

In September 2025, CEIT installed three sensors and a UWB-4G gateway at TECNALIA’s HARSHLAB floating laboratory. This marks the start of a one-year test campaign within the WILLOW Project.

The objective of the campaign is twofold: first, to validate the robustness and autonomy of CEIT’s custom-made ultrasonic system, including electronics, wireless communication, and measurement performance; and second, to analyse the evolution of artificially created pits. Two piezoelectric transducers of different diameters have been placed over separate pits, while another transducer monitors an area without any pit.

The results of this experiment will provide valuable insights into corrosion monitoring and sensor performance in harsh marine environments, contributing to the advancement of offshore wind energy technologies.
