On 12 June, the WILLOW project held its final event as the initiative entered its last three months. Hosted alongside the WindEurope Technology Workshop, the session provided an opportunity to present the project’s key achievements and demonstrate how WILLOW is contributing to the future of offshore wind farm lifetime extension.
During the event, project partners shared the main results developed over the past three years, covering topics such as coating condition and pitting corrosion monitoring, continuous remaining useful life assessment, farm-wide load monitoring, and health-aware wind farm operation. Together, these advances support more efficient asset management strategies and help improve the reliability and long-term performance of offshore wind farms.
The event attracted strong interest from the wind energy community, bringing together 43 participants from 35 organisations. The high level of engagement reflected the relevance of the project’s research and the growing interest in innovative solutions for offshore wind monitoring, maintenance and lifetime management.
Following the public presentations, WILLOW also held its final Advisory Board Meeting, bringing together experts from across the sector, including representatives from Aeroblade, Coessio, DNV, ISATI Engineering Solutions, JERA Nex bp, Parkwind, Nabla Wind Hub and Otary.
The meeting provided an opportunity for in-depth technical discussions on the project’s results, allowing Advisory Board members to share their perspectives, ask questions and provide valuable feedback on the solutions developed throughout the project.
As WILLOW approaches its conclusion, the consortium would like to thank all Advisory Board members for their continued support and contributions. Their expertise has played an important role in ensuring that the project’s outcomes remain aligned with industry needs and maximise their potential impact on the offshore wind sector.
