During the week of October 12, the WILLOW project participated in an underwater monitoring operation at the Norther offshore wind farm near Ostend, Belgium. As part of Task 1.5, which focuses on the environmental assessment of underwater radiated noise emitted by offshore wind platforms, TSI deployed its hydrophone in collaboration with VLIZ (Flemish Institute for the Sea).
VLIZ was carrying out a scheduled deployment of several sensors on mooring structures, and TSI integrated its own sensor into one of these setups. This joint effort allows the collection of high-quality acoustic data to better understand noise levels in offshore environments and their potential impact on marine ecosystems.
