The WILLOW project was featured at the 14th International Workshop on the Application of Electrochemical Techniques to Organic Coatings (AETOC), held from 23 to 26 March in the Douro Valley, Portugal. The event brought together experts in corrosion science, coating technologies and electrochemical methods to discuss the latest advances in the field.
Jerika Lamas, from Sirris, presented the work titled “Evaluating Offshore Coating Durability through Laboratory and In‑Situ EIS Monitoring”, showcasing recent progress achieved within the WILLOW project. Her contribution highlighted ongoing developments in assessing the durability of offshore coatings and demonstrated the value of combining laboratory testing with in‑situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) monitoring.
The presentation underscored the importance of electrochemical techniques for understanding coating performance in real marine environments, supporting WILLOW’s broader objective of improving the long‑term reliability of offshore wind structures.
