WILLOW project was presented to the Basque wind energy industry at the biannual Wind Energy Sector Forum of the Basque Energy Cluster.
On October 24th, a new session of the Wind Energy Sector Forum took place at the Euskalduna Palace, bringing together the main players in the wind energy value chain in the Basque Country, with more than 70 attendees. The session was inaugurated with a welcome from José Ignacio Hormaeche (General Director of the Energy Cluster) and an intervention by Jon Lezamiz (Global Head of Public Affairs at Siemens Gamesa), reviewing the current situation of the wind energy sector.
The first part of the session featured contributions from three external speakers. After a coffee break and networking time, the second part of the sector forum focused on the main collaborative R&D projects and initiatives. The coordinator of Horizon Europe project WILLOW, Ainhoa Cortes from CEIT, outlined the challenge facing WILLOW, as well as its main goals and the actions the partners will take to meet it.
The session concluded with a one-hour B2B meeting space among the different companies in the Basque wind energy value chain, where attendees were able to make contacts, share information, and develop opportunities.
